description abstractFor a class of linear systems the conditions are given under which drift compensation is possible by adjustments of the control parameters. In such a case the system is called “completely adaptable.” The equations for the adjusting mechanism are derived by use of a functional derivative technique, admitting a remarkably simple implementation. Finally, the stability conditions for the total system are given.
