description abstractThe static and dynamic heat-transfer characteristics of several forms of hot-film element, used in flow measurement, are herein presented. These characteristics are defined in terms of external heat-transfer resistance and internal heat-transfer impedance, and from these terms the frequency response of a probe element is derived.
