description abstractRecently, we have elucidated some mechanical behaviors of powders during the compaction. The elucidation involves the constitutive relations of a powder medium under the multishock compaction, the qualitative behavior such as the similarities of the compaction processes, the die wall friction effect, and the uniformity of the final density distribution of the compact with a high density, and the quantitative behavior analyzed by the pseudo-viscosity method and the shock fitting. This review describes this behavior systematically.
