| description abstract | The concept of the acceleration center in plane kinematics is extended to spherical kinematics, i.e., to the motion of a body with a fixed point. The acceleration axes are defined as the lines through the fixed point O, to the points P, whose acceleration components perpendicular to OP vanish. It is shown that there are, in general, three such axes. Their location, reality, and geometric properties have been derived, including the velocity and acceleration distributions corresponding to these axes. | |
