description abstractThis paper is intended to demonstrate an engineering approach to the field of high-pressure fatigue. A further intention is to stimulate thought toward the farmation of a correction equation, which may be made by applying a series of approximate correction factors to a state-of-stress equation. It is possible that the fatigue limit or “endurance pressure” of thick-walled cylinders of various wall ratios may be estimated by using such a correction equation.
