| description abstract | This paper is concerned with the unloading response of symmetrically plucked hyperelastic strings and presents some results of an experimental study. The validity of certain similarity solutions due to Wegner et al. (1989) is investigated and the experimental results are in acceptable agreement with the predictions of these solutions. A small extension of the similarity solutions to consider the response of a string after the first reflection is presented along with some experimental verification. | |
