description abstractThis paper presents a numerical and experimental study of transient laminar countercurrent flow in which the pressure gradient is time-dependent. An explicit finite-difference scheme is used to solve numerically the governing equations. Experimental results are obtained with a new kind of apparatus and are found to verify the numerical predictions.
