description abstractIn this paper pressure and velocity measurements on two theoretical compact manifold type junctions (compact pulse converters) under steady-state conditions are described. The velocity measurements are done with Laser-Doppler anemometry (LDA). The pressure distributions and the velocity profiles for different flow configurations and different mass flow rates are presented. These results are used for calculation of loss coefficients and for comparison with a numerical algorithm for simulating the three dimensional turbulent quasi-steady flow in compact manifold type junctions.
