description abstractStepping motors have several advantages over other motor systems, especially in the field of digital control system; however, they also have a disadvantage in that the vibrational exciting source exists within their driving principle. This study deals with this vibrational problem of stepping motored machine system in consideration of the interaction between mechanical and electrical parts of the system. In this report one basic mathematical modeling, i.e., Spanworm equation, is proposed for analysis and applied to some practical examples. The calculational results agree well with measured results. Consequently, to install the stepping motors in a machine system, the usefulness of Spanworm equation is endorsed.
