description abstract | A group scheduling model which is associated with group technology concepts was developed on the multiple production stages. In group scheduling where jobs are classified into several groups, optimal decision is to be made as to sequences of groups and jobs in each group. Both optimal group and optimal job sequences were determined so as to minimize the total flow time with the minimum number of tardy jobs. In addition, optimal speeds minimizing the production cost were determined under the optimal sequences. | |
