description abstractThis paper describes an experimental investigation on the compressive strength of frozen soil versus strain rate. The relationship of compressive strength and temperature and strain-rate are examined within certain ranges of strain rate and temperature, the results of which are a number of stress-strain curves. Some formulas are suggested to predict the compressive strength of frozen soil, as compared with experimental results.
