ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Dynamic Simulation of Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS)
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The simulation method to be used in FMS should be multilevel and dynamic and should incorporate solid modeling techniques. This means that operation control simulation in FMS should rely on ...
Design for Manufacture: An Overview
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Design for manufacture (DFM) is concerned with defining product design alternatives which facilitate optimization of the manufacturing system as a whole. Recognized as being essential to productivity ...
The Teaching of Engineering Mathematics

Hidden (A)Symmetries of Elastic and Plastic Bifurcation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Buckling at a distinct bifurcation point is more often than not symmetric, in the sense that equal and opposite amplitudes of the single buckling mode give identical physical shapes and hence ...
Commentary on Flexible Fixturing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: One of the significant impediments to the evolution of truly flexible computer-integrated manufacturing systems is the absence of truly adaptable flexible fixturing systems. This article reports ...
Machining and Grinding: A Historical Review of the Classical Papers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Major contributions to machining and grinding research in the US came in the twentieth century. The seminal work by Frederick Winslow Taylor on the Art of Cutting Metals published in 1907 was ...
Aging of Distribution and Other Lifeline Systems Due to Corrosion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Statistics derived from public works maintenance records for buried steel and cast iron pipelines indicate that aging may be seen in increasing rates of repairs. Maintenance increases with age ...
