ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Structural modal interaction of a four degree-of-freedom bladed disk and casing model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Consideration is given to a very specific interaction phenomenon that may occur in turbomachines due to radial rub between a bladed disk and surrounding casing. These two structures, featuring ...
On the Use of Lie Group Time Integrators in Multibody Dynamics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper proposes a family of Lie group time integrators for the simulation of flexible multibody systems. The method provides an elegant solution to the rotation parametrization problem. As ...
Study of Viscoplasticity Models for the Impact Behavior of High-Strength Steels
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study reports on modeling the mechanical behavior of high-strength steels subjected to impact loading. The materials studied were steel grades of interest for crashworthiness applications: ...
Soft Impact in a Biomechanical System With Shape Memory Element
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The analysis of the shape memory prosthesis (SMP) of the middle ear is presented in this paper. The shape memory prosthesis permits the adjustment of its length to individual patient needs, but sometimes the prosthesis ...
A Recursive Algorithm for Solving the Generalized Velocities From the Momenta of Flexible Multibody Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Hamilton’s equations can be used to define the dynamics of a tree configured flexible multibody system. Their states are the generalized coordinates and momenta (p,q). Numerical solution of these ...
Sliding Modes for the Simulation of Mechanical and Electrical Systems Defined by Differential-Algebraic Equations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: We offer a technique, motivated by feedback control and specifically sliding mode control, for the simulation of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) that describe common engineering systems ...
Gradient Deficient Curved Beam Element Using the Absolute Nodal Coordinate Formulation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this investigation, a gradient deficient beam element of the absolute nodal coordinate formulation is generalized to a curved beam for the analysis of multibody systems, and the performance ...
Modified Path Integral Solution of Fokker–Planck Equation: Response and Bifurcation of Nonlinear Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Response of nonlinear systems subjected to harmonic, parametric, and random excitations is of importance in the field of structural dynamics. The transitional probability density function (PDF) ...
Global Behavior of a Vibro-Impact System With Multiple Nonsmooth Mechanical Factors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A nonlinear mechanical model of a vibro-impact system influenced by double nonsmooth mechanical factors that combine elastic and rigid impact is described. The theoretical solutions to judge the periodic motion stability ...
Validation of a Numerical Model for the Simulation of Tramcar Vehicle Dynamics by Means of Comparison With Experimental Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Tramcar vehicles significantly differ from traditional railway vehicles for both the adopted structural configuration and design solutions and the operating conditions. For this reason, a new ...
