ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Deep Learning-Based Multifidelity Surrogate Modeling for High-Dimensional Reliability Prediction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Multifidelity surrogate modeling offers a cost-effective approach to reducing extensive evaluations of expensive physics-based simulations for reliability prediction. However, considering spatial uncertainties in multifidelity ...
Filter Approximations for Random Vibroacoustics of Rigid Porous Media
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An approximate efficient stochastic dynamics technique is developed for determining response statistics of linear systems with frequency-dependent parameters, which are used for modeling wave propagation through rigid ...
LSTM Neural Networks Using the SMOTE Algorithm for Wind Turbine Fault Prediction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work proposes a method using a long short-term memory neural network as a diagnostic tool to detect wind turbine rotor mass imbalance. The method uses the synthetic minority oversampling technique for data augmentation ...
Complementing Drawability Assessment of Deep-Drawn Components With Surrogate-Based Global Sensitivity Analysis
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In the early-stage development of sheet metal parts, key design properties of new structures must be specified. As these decisions are made under significant uncertainty regarding drawing configuration changes, they sometimes ...
A Mode Sensitivity Enhancement Method for Beam Bridge Using High-Density Strain Feedback
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Closed-loop damage diagnosis method has attracted some attention in recent years; however, for lack of sufficient measuring points, it is difficult to achieve robust control of large structures cause the output dimension ...
Impact of Sources of Damping on the Fragility Estimates of Wind Turbine Towers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Fragility estimates in wind turbine towers have been investigated but the effect of damping on fragility has not been studied. While damping can often be small, it can come from different sources for a wind turbine. This ...
