ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Comparison of Dynamic Tear and Charpy-V-Notch Impact Properties of Plate Steels
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The increasing interest in the Dynamic Tear (DT) test for use in measuring the fracture resistance of steels in both quality control and research testing, invites a comparison to the commonly ...
The Influence of Inclusions on the Toughness and Fatigue Properties of A516-70 Steel
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The influence of inclusions on the tensile ductility, upper shelf Charpy-V-notch, dynamic tear and J-integral fracture toughness and the fatigue crack propagation behavior and the fatigue endurance ...
Fatigue Crack Propagation in A533B Steels
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The influence of steelmaking practice on the fatigue crack propagation behavior of A533B low alloy plate steels is examined. Conventional practice, calcium-treated and electroslag-remelted steels ...
The Fatigue and Toughness Properties of a C-Mn-Cb Plate Steel
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The fatigue and toughness properties of a C-Mn-Cb plate steel, described both by ASTM A633C and A737B, are presented and compared to the properties of A516-70. Production plate steels made by ...
Corrosion Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior of a C-Mn-Cb Steel
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The fatigue crack propagation properties of a C-Mn-Cb plate steel (SA633 Grade C) in a 3.5 percent NaCl solution have been evaluated for loading frequencies of 10, 1.0, and 0.1 Hertz. To ...

Fatigue Crack Propagation in A533B Steels—Metallographic and Fractographic Analyses
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Metallographic and fractographic analyses are performed on A533B low alloy plate steels made by three steelmaking practices. The fatigue crack growth rates of these steels had been previously ...
