ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Analytical Sensitivity of Acoustic Power Radiated from Plates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A general formulation to obtain the analytical expressions for the sensitivity of the acoustic power radiated by a vibrating structure to one of its design variables is described. The formulation, ...
Probabilistic Optimal Design Using Second Moment Criteria
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Probability-based optimal design of structures is presented. The emphasis here is to develop a practical approach to optimal design given random design parameters. The method is applicable to ...
Robustness of Design Through Minimum Sensitivity
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The problem of designing mechanical systems or components under uncertainty is considered. The basic idea is to ensure quality control at the design stage by minimizing sensitivity of the ...
