ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Analytical and Empirical Basis for the Design of Turbulence Amplifiers: Part II: Empirical Relationships and Design Procedure
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper is a direct extension of Part I. The relationships important to turbulence amplifier characteristics but not amenable to direct analysis are empirically determined in this part. These ...
An Analytical and Empirical Basis for the Design of Turbulence Amplifiers: Part I: Analysis and Experimental Confirmation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The design of turbulence amplifiers is given a rational basis by identifying the critical parameter groups necessary to completely specify the performance of a given element, deriving by analysis ...
A Logical Procedure for the Construction of Bond Graphs in Systems Modeling
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The problem of deriving a suitable mathematical model for complex devices is discussed. A small vibratory air pump is used as the medium of presentation. The modeling process begins with the ...
Design and Application of a Tensile Testing Stage for the SEM
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Dynamic SEM studies of plastic flow in a uni-axial tensile test requires that the loading stage possess more than an ability to apply large loads to the test specimen. In such a test, ...
On an Axiomatic Approach to Manufacturing and Manufacturing Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A manufacturing system consists of the following processes; design, materials selection and processing, assembly, and quality control. Maximum productivity of a given manufacturing system can be ...
High-Speed Surface Roughness Measurement
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A prototype apparatus is described that performs a real-time optical measurement of surface roughness in the 2 to 20 microinch AA range, typical of high-quality grinding, honing, and lapping. ...
