ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Erosive Effects of High Pressure and High Temperature Gases on Steel
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An experimental study is being conducted to determine the thermochemical mechanisms by which short duration pulses (1 to 2 ms) of high pressure and temperature gases erode steel. A ballistic ...
Erosion of Powder Metallurgy Aluminum Alloys by Hot Propellant Gases
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental results are presented on the erosion of PMA (Powder Metallurgy Aluminum) alloys by a pulse of high pressure and high temperature combustible gases. The PMA alloys have been found ...
Combustion Characteristics of a Single-Cylinder Open-Chamber Diesel Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The combustion characteristics of an open-chamber diesel engine were examined by means of heat-release analysis and flame luminosity measurements. Increasing the load was found to decrease premixed ...
On the Premixed Combustion in a Direct-Injection Diesel Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The factors influencing premixed burning and the importance of premixed burning on the exhaust emissions from a small high-speed direct-injection diesel engine were investigated. The characteristics ...
Heat Release Studies in a Divided-Chamber Diesel Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The influences of operational parameters on the heat release and heat transfer characteristics of a divided-chamber diesel engine were examined. Increasing the fuel-air ratio increased the heat ...
The Application of Availability and Energy Balances to a Diesel Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The maximum power that can be extracted from an engine operating at a given condition was determined by means of analyses based on the first and second laws of thermodynamics. These analyses ...
Indicators of Fuel Maldistribution in Spark-Ignition Engines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Several exhaust-emissions-based parameters were experimentally found to be good indicators for fuel maldistribution (both in-cylinder and cylinder-to-cylinder) in spark-ignition engines. The quality ...
