ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

On the Mechanism of Chip Breaking
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: During metal cutting while products are being manufactured, the access material is removed in the form of chips. These chips are obtained in various shapes which depend on cutting conditions, ...
Investigation of the Flank Wear of Cemented Carbide Tools
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Discussion: “Analysis of Tool Wear—Part I: Theoretical Models of Flank Wear” (Bhattacharyya, A., and Ham, I., 1969, ASME J. Eng. Ind., 91, pp. 790–796)

The Effect of Abrasion Resistance and Thermal Properties of the Cemented Carbide Cutting Tool Grade on the Flank Wear Characteristics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Correlation of the wear characteristics with abrasion resistance factor—1/(vol. loss) in a standard test—has been established in a low speed range where the temperatures involved in the cutting ...
