ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Performance of a Convectively Heated Rectangular Fin With a Step Change in Cross-Sectional Area and Losing Heat by Simultaneous Convection and Radiation (Step Fins Under Radiation Environment)
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A numerical procedure has been used to study the thermal performance of a step convective-radiative fin with temperature dependent thermal conductivity and convective base heating. An analytical ...
Mixed Convection From a Convectively Heated Vertical Plate to a Fluid With Internal Heat Generation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A numerical approach has been adopted to study steady mixed convection from the right face of a vertical plate of finite thickness. Cold fluid flowing over the right face of the plate contains ...
Laminar Natural Convection From an Isothermal Vertical Surface to Pseudoplastic and Dilatant Fluids
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper reports the results of a numerical study of natural convective heat transfer from a vertical isothermal surface to pseudoplastic and dilatant fluids. The analysis calculates the average ...
Transient Heat Transfer in Extended Surfaces
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive, coherent, and methodical review of the existing literature on the transient performance of extended surfaces (fins). With the exception of very ...
Perturbation Techniques in Phase Change Heat Transfer
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Heat transfer with change of phase (freezing or melting) is important in numerous scientific and engineering applications. Since the pioneering works of Neumann and Stefan, a number of analytical ...
Optimum Dimensions of Extended Surfaces Operating in a Convective Environment
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This article is devoted to the review of the literature on optimum dimensions of extended surfaces losing heat by pure convection to the surroundings. The review covers straight (longitudinal) ...
