ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Numerical and Experimental Study of Unsteady Flow Field and Vibration in Radial Inflow Turbines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The blades of turbocharger impellers are exposed to unsteady aerodynamic forces, which cause blade vibrations and may lead to failures. An indispensable requirement for a safe design of radial ...
Surface Roughness Effects on External Heat Transfer of a HP Turbine Vane
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: External heat transfer measurements on a highly loaded turbine vane with varying surface roughness are presented. The investigation comprises nine different roughness configurations and a smooth ...
High-Resolution Measurements of Local Heat Transfer Coefficients From Discrete Hole Film Cooling
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Local heat transfer coefficients on a flat plate surface downstream a row of cylindrical ejection holes were investigated. The parameters blowing angle, hole pitch, blowing rate, and density ...
Shock Wave–Film Cooling Interactions in Transonic Flows
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Interactions between shock waves and film cooling are described as they affect magnitudes of local and spanwise-averaged adiabatic film cooling effectiveness distributions. A row of three cylindrical ...
High-Resolution Measurements of Local Effectiveness From Discrete Hole Film Cooling
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Local adiabatic film cooling effectiveness on a flat plate surface downstream a row of cylindrical holes was investigated. Geometric parameters such as blowing angle and hole pitch, as well as ...
Correlation of Film-Cooling Effectiveness From Thermographic Measurements at Enginelike Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Adiabatic film-cooling effectiveness on a flat plate surface downstream of a row of cylindrical holes is investigated. Highly resolved two-dimensional surface data were measured by means of ...
Heat Flux Reduction From Film Cooling and Correlation of Heat Transfer Coefficients From Thermographic Measurements at Enginelike Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Heat transfer coefficients and the resulting heat flux reduction due to film cooling on a flat plate downstream a row of cylindrical holes are investigated. Highly resolved two-dimensional heat ...
Assessment of Various Film-Cooling Configurations Including Shaped and Compound Angle Holes Based on Large-Scale Experiments
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The demand of improved thermal efficiency and high power output of modern gas turbine engines leads to extremely high turbine inlet temperatures and pressure ratios. Sophisticated cooling schemes ...
Experimental Assessment of Fiber-Reinforced Ceramics for Combustor Walls
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental and theoretical work concerning the application of ceramic components in small high-temperature gas turbines has been performed for several years. The significance of some nonoxide ...
