ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Equivalent Linearization of a Squeeze Film Damper
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper, the equivalent linearization of an intershaft squeeze film damper in a two shaft engine system is investigated. The two shaft centers at the damper position are assumed to move ...
The Modal Density of Honeycomb Shells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Wave Propagation and Attenuation in Piping Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Results of an investigation on wave propagation in two-dimensional fluid-filled piping systems is reported. This phenomenon is studied by first developing a model for the transmission of solid-borne ...
An Experimental Study of the Flow and Wall Pressure Field Around a Wing-Body Junction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The flow and wall-pressure field around a wing-body junction has been experimentally investigated in a quiet, low-turbulence wind tunnel. Measurements were made along the centerline in front of ...
Approximate Structural Response Characterization Using Parametric and Envelope Models for Multimodal Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In the study of the response of systems to an excitation there are circumstances when it is desirable to obtain some overall or average characterization of the system and its response rather ...
Active Vibration Control of a Multimode Rotor-Bearing System Using an Adaptive Algorithm
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method for minimizing forced harmonic vibration of a rotor-bearing system by the application of external control forces is presented. The frequency of the vibration is assumed known. In cases ...
Radial Stresses for Curved Beams
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
On the Applications of the Boundary-Element Method to Acoustical Field Studies of Vibrating Structures
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the applications of the Boundary-Element Method (BEM) for studies on acoustical field of various vibrating structures. The studies emphasize the numerical aspects of the BEM. ...
Vibrations of Partially Stressed Beams
