ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Integrating Computer Aided Design and Nano Indentation for Complex Lithograph
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: We present an approach for producing complex nanoscale patterns by integrating computeraided design (CAD) geometry processing with an atomic force microscope (AFM) based nanoindentation process. Surface modification is ...
Transient Analysis of Laser Ablation Process With Plasma Shielding: One Dimensional Model Using Finite Volume Method
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive transient model of various phenomena that occur during laser ablation of TiC target at subnanosecond timesteps. The model is a 1D numerical simulation using finite volume method (FVM) ...
Microwedge Machining for the Manufacture of Directional Dry Adhesives
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Directional dry adhesives are inspired by animals such as geckos and are a particularly useful technology for climbing applications. Previously, they have generally been manufactured using photolithographic processes. This ...
An Experimental Investigation on the Fabrication of Micro/Meso Surface Features by Metallic Roll to Plate Imprinting Process
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Metallic components with largearea functional surface micro/mesostructures have been increasingly utilized in various industrial fields, such as friction/wear reduction, viscous drag reduction, and energy efficiency ...
Experimental Study of Failure Modes and Scaling Effects in Micro Incremental Forming
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Incremental forming (IF) is a relatively new technique that uses a simple hemispherical ended tool moving along a predefined threedimensional toolpath to deform a sheet of metal into the desired shape. The greater process ...
Crystallographic Effects on Microscale Machining of Polycrystalline Brittle Materials
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper studies the effects of crystallography on the microscale machining characteristics of polycrystalline brittle materials on a quantitative basis. It is believed that during micromachining of brittle materials, ...
Process Parameter Effects on Dimensional Accuracy of Micro Injection Moulded Part
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Microinjection moulding is becoming increasingly important among the available processes for production of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microsystem technologies (MSTs), and higher number of polymer products ...
Manufacturing of 316L Stainless Steel Die Mold by Hot Embossing Process for Microfluidic Applications
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Hot embossing process has emerged as a viable method for producing small, complex, precision parts in low volumes. It provides several advantages such as lowcost for molds, high replication accuracy for microfeatures and ...
Excimer Laser Micromachining Using Binary Mask Projection for Large Area Patterning With Single Micrometer Features
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Excimer laser micromachining using binary mask projection has been investigated for rapid patterning of single micrometer features over large areas of various substrates. Simple limit for depth of focus that determines the ...
Optimization of Planetary Movement Parameters for Microhole Drilling by Micro Electrical Discharge Machining
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Microholes are widely used in industrial products, such as engine nozzles and filters for biomedical industry. Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is one of processes to drill microholes in alloy with high aspect ratio. ...
