Abstract: The Galerkin approximative technique is used to solve the problem of stagnation in plane flow, the so-called “Hiemenz flow”, of a non-Newtonian power-law fluid in presence of a constant transverse magnetic field. The influence of the magnetic field strength on the wall shear stress is analyzed.
