Abstract: This paper presents a design algorithm for radial vortex amplifiers. The algorithm allows radial vortex amplifiers to be designed for high performance in terms of Turn Down Ratio and Cutoff Control Pressure Ratio and for low levels of internally generated noise. Devices designed through this algorithm give significant improvments on the envelope of previously published best designs.
